Point Loma
Point Loma sits separated from the rest of San Diego, and I'm pretty certain its inhabitants like it that way. The Sunset Cliffs hold secret breaks that can pummel you before you even enter the water, or bring you to a meditative zen, depending on how and when you access them. The harbor side has unparallelled views of the City and San Diego Bay with the backdrop of the northern Baja cerros. Point Loma has a layered feel all of it's own, with history rich in Portugeuse and Italian heritages, naval and marine structure, a slow-and-low surfing vibe, the hustle of fishing tourism and the sharpness of barnacled sailing... all rolled into one cultural burrito.
