The sandstone formations of the Flatirons provide a world-class backdrop to the city of Boulder, Colorado. I spent 16 years of my life within direct view of the Flatirons, and expended millions of calories exporing the terriains and trails surrounding them. This is the place where I worked to become a responsible adult, finished my undergraduate degree and found my love for mountains and forests. I earned my stripes in map reading, orienteering, peak bagging and mountain biking in the presence of these feldspar-rich sandstone rocks. The Flatirons are very, very photogenic, of course, and continue to provide breathtaking views as you move to different aspects around their core. I began developing a penchant for bringing my cameras with me whenever possible while out on athletic sojourns, as the terrains and expansive trail system gave me opportunity to practice my craft while sweating away my worries.
