4 years ago, I started my survivor journey from colorectal cancer, with major surgeries, chemotherapy and mental therapeutic sessions as the core elements of my treatment plan. On this morning, Jan 4 2025, I was greeted by a full-spectrum mountain sunrise lighting up a fresh blanket of snow — 2 of my most favorite things in this Life. It was 4 years to the day of my first surgery, a marker of sorts, and I contemplated how far I’ve evolved physically and mentally since that first surgery.
I’m grateful to be alive, yes, but I’m even more grateful for the journey that has led me here and for La Famiglia who’ve walked with me the entire way. It is a journey that continually teaches me to work hard at being a better man, father, husband and friend every day, and to witness those sunrises and sunsets with Joy - because life is short, and I’ve been given a second chance to leave this world a better place than I’ve found it.
One Life, Live It!
